In the northern suburbs of Perth, West Coast Drive winds its way along the coast and there are numerous small cafes along the way to try. Personally, I think breakfast is the best time to be here, although seeing the sun set over the ocean in the evening is pretty nice too! Here are three great places to try:

• The Wild Fig Cafe at 33 West Coast Drive has fantastic breakfasts and friendly staff, and a lot of covered outdoor seating for good weather - so you can eat while smelling the salty smell of the ocean.
• Bennion Street Cafe at 331 West Coast Highway in Trigg has the same nice views, mostly from inside though, so it's a better pick if you're unlucky enough to have a rainy or cooler day. And good cake for afternoon tea!
• The Pelican Cafe on the corner of North Beach Road and West Coast Drive is only open for breakfast on the weekend, so it can be busy, but because it's on the second floor the views over the ocean are even more spectacular.
