You can visit the Scottish parliament building in Edinburgh free of charge but you'll only be able to walk around the central lobby and the the public area of the debating chamber. The building is very modern and you either love or loathe it. There are guided tours available on some days which cost around £5 and give fuller access and detailed commentary by a professional guide,
